Back from Sheenboro: Fresh Greens, Fresh Energy

Hello from the Farm!
We’re back from a recent week away in Sheenboro, Quebec, where Heather, Allie, and Ron enjoyed lakeside days and local adventures. One highlight was visiting the Diefenbunker in Carp, Ontario—a fascinating piece of Cold War history.
👉 Fun Fact: Despite lending his name to the facility, there’s no record that Prime Minister John Diefenbaker ever visited the bunker. Built as a Central Emergency Government Headquarters (CEGHQ) to protect officials during a nuclear attack, it was never used for its intended purpose and only became public after the Cold War, now operating as a museum.
The time away gave us new energy to bring you the freshest greens possible!

Recipe of the Month: Broccoli Microgreen Power Bowl 🥦
Packed with flavour and nutrients, this bowl is perfect for lunch or a light dinner. Ingredients (serves 2): - 1 cup cooked quinoa
- 1 cup chickpeas (roasted or plain)
- 1 small cucumber, diced
- 1 carrot, shredded
- ½ avocado, sliced
- ½ cup feta cheese (optional)
- 1 cup broccoli microgreens
- Olive oil, lemon juice, salt & pepper to taste
Instructions: - In two bowls, divide the quinoa as your base.
- Arrange chickpeas, cucumber, carrot, avocado, and feta on top.
- Drizzle with olive oil and lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper.
- Finish with a generous handful of broccoli microgreens for a crisp, nutrient-rich punch.
